With the question “Who has the best pizza in the San Francisco Bay Area?” always on everyone’s minds, Tony’s Pizza Napoletana is always a front-runner. And thank goodness, many pizza restaurants are also now catering to those who live a gluten-free lifestyle. Whether they have Celiac disease, an allergy, or they’re just eliminating gluten for general health reasons, gluten-free options are now becoming more and more common on menus. We’re proud to share that Tony’s, in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco aka “Little Italy”, serves up delicious gluten-free pizza. Tony’s has been on many a pizza lovers’ minds since it opened to rave reviews. It’s worth the long wait and hunt for a parking spot, but here’s a tip: go before 6pm if possible, your wait will be exponentially shorter. In fact, you may not even have one.
Now on to the pizza. I’ve had both the regular crust and the gluten-free crust, and I must say Tony’s does an excellent job with both! All of their ingredients are authentic and shipped in from Napoli. Their gluten-free pizza crust is just the perfect amount of chewy with crisp around the edges. I wouldn’t necessarily know it wasn’t a regular wheat flour pizza crust. As for their oven and prep policy, we have great news: they cook each and every gluten-free pizza in a separate oven. As always, alert the restaurant staff to your gluten restriction so that you can work together to ensure a safe meal.
